Re: fight spam
Hi Tom, If you are serious about blocking spam, take a good look at Fail2ban. It is already installed on KeyHelp, and setup with some basic features to cover common usage. It is encouraged to make your own custom rules for fail2ban, to suit your purposes. Fail2ban is very strong on blocking spam, es...

Re: Best practice for local environment
Hello Hercules, this is Linux, you can do what you want. That is, if you know what you are doing. In the KeyHelp documentation, most of the basics are covered: https://kb.keyhelp.de/category.php The way you describe SSH functions doesn't sound right. Root should have full read-write access, and norm...

Re: Does KeyHelp Update disable cron jobs?
Thankyou Alexander, I thought so. I have already disabled those that may be problematic.
I guess the update can be triggered manually by the "Update administration panel" cron in "Maintenance Intervals".
OR
is it best left on auto?

Does KeyHelp Update disable cron jobs?
I have some heavy cron jobs and was wondering...
Does the coming KeyHelp 20.2 update disable cron jobs before it runs?
If no, I will just disable some crons (temporarily).
I'm interested to know.

Hello Hexacube,
this setup will be different, for different providers.
Thanks for the tip, it is definitely worth noting for migrations.

Re: Using IP only fo KH server
Hello Martins, you could always try, I believe you need a hostname at least, even if it's a local one. Give your host a name, then add an entry for it, in the hosts file - then save. /etc/hosts 127.0.0.1 myhost Your host can now be accessed by name, on the same machine. The rest will be up to the Ke...

Hi Superrandom, I have seen similar requests here, but I don't think anyone is actually doing this. It would be interesting to hear your findings. This will help you get rolling... 1. Does keyhelp replace templates upon updating? 2. Is it open source so I can fork it maybe? 3. Am I better off making...

Re: User login filter from IPs
Hi Tony, thats a good idea. For now, you could add the following, to a .htaccess file in the KeyHelp web directory: /home/keyhelp/www/.htaccess # RESTRICT ACCESS TO DIRECTORY BY IP ADDRESS # Include in .htaccess of any directory <RequireAny> Require all denied Require ip 1.2.3.4 Require ip 5.6.7.8/1...

This is normal on Ubuntu 18.04, its more a warning, and can be safely ignored.

Hi Vito, yes its possible, you can protect ANY directory! First we create the .htpasswd file, then the .htaccess for the protected directory. You can create the .htpasswd manually as described here: https://help.dreamhost.com/hc/en-us/articles/216363187-Password-protecting-your-site-with-an-htaccess...

Hi Prune, this interested me, so... I don't think there is such facility in KeyHelp panel. With a few minutes search I found the following, but have not tested, you could try this: Open the Postfix config file: /etc/postfix/main.cf Insert the following code, just before the line "smtpd_client_r...
