Remote server settings - Directory is not writable, cannot write test file

Post by DennisDee »

Hello my friends,

After long time I finally have a server where I was able to install keyhelp and I love it! The only problem that I'm facing right now is to setup remote ftp for backups. I would like that keyhelp do scheduled backups to my NAS (Terramaster F2-210) via ftp.

1. On NAS I managed to set all ports to work thru router (Asus) firewall, so I can connect to NAS ftp from anywhere. After testing from Filezilla, from ftp application on phone and different IP all works fine.
2. I write all necessary information into keyhelp>backup>Remote server settings
3. After I press test connection, file keyhelp-remote-test.dat on NAS is created with 0 bytes size and on keyhelp I get error message: Directory is not writable, cannot write test file. I tried with Use passive mode and error is still there.

I've read someone had same problem in German forum with Synology NAS, but I couldn't find a solution there thst would work for me.

EDIT:

I also tried to connect to my old server (still active), same error shows up. If I set "Use passive mode" it works well.

My server is on Debian 10 and Keyhelp is fully updated. Should I post some log here? If yes, which one?

Problem solved! I did what I've re-read in German forum about CLI thru sftp, then after I logged in i simply used ls to get correct folder :). My first backup is done and also I set the schedule for it.
