nginx + something else

Post by mgubin »

Hello,

KeyHelp is a very good panel. But it lacks some things.

The first is the ability to install nginx as a frontend for the Apache web server.

The second is that the SSL certificate Let's Encrypt, as it turned out, can not be found by some users, especially beginners. It would be better to move it from the domain properties to a separate item in the left menu.

And the third. When installed on a container, the panel displays iptables errors. We need a mechanism that recognizes whether it is virtualization or a regular dedicated server. Why? For example, on OpenVZ or LXC, the iptables component in the system is truncated and dependent on the server node, so it does not work the same as on other types of virtualization.

Hello,

you are able to use nginx in front when chaning the apache port to something else and using nginx as reverse proxy. This has to be configured manual.

Firewall module would be rewritten to nftables with one of the next updates (for recent Debian 10 and Ubuntu 20.04 (when released stable))

Next Update is KeyHelp 20.0 which will be ready around end of January, (more likely) beginning of February.
Mit freundlichen Grüßen / Best regards

Sure, beginning is before the end...until 28 February     Alex starts the rollout when he thinks it's ok. And all servers stay alive - after the rollout.

We once had a roadmap. But the maintenance of the roadmap took time. Without roadmap is this time available for programming of KH.
It is also less stressful for the programmers - because nobody can say: “In the roadmap is written... TODAY"

The upcoming Major-Update seems to be scheduled for monday:
https://changelog.keyhelp.de/

We always should keep in mind, new releases with new features and a bunch of improvements come within 3-4 months. Thats short tearm and pretty agile in my eyes.
