panel port
panel port
is it possible to change the panel port, i wanna separate the panel from web ports for ease with firewalled purposes.
Re: panel port
Hello,
as KeyHelp is also served by the webserver, it is not possible to change the port for KeyHelp.

Re: panel port
web server for standard ports sure, not necessarily something that cannot be done with apache, nginx nor openlitespeed, per se.
It just gives the end user and extra layer of security, in this case via the firewall.

Re: panel port
obscurity is not security
firewall is also active on port 443.
a higher portnumber does not stand for higher security.
you could use an Apache-Proxy Solution to simulate another port if necessary.

Re: panel port
So the ips set and allowed to login to the admin pages are firewalled right?
BTW, i only been using this web app for a week but yeah it ticks a lot of good boxes for me thus far.
Im only trying to be constructive on the matter, is all.
Actually i can still load the admin page from an IP that isnt whitelisted, how is that firewalled? Doesnt sound like a network firewall, more a web app firewall. I hope the web app is bullet proof then.
Network layer firewall through a whitelisted IP and custom port does not equal obscurity.

Re: panel port
oh and the aesthetically silly aspect, i have to scroll through my saved webmail passwords (same domain as cpanel) are showing up in the panel login lol. doesn't happen when it is segregated. heh
