Mail Server and outlook setup

Post by MoKaa »

Dear all ,

Iam using keyhelp , installed on debain 12 , the scenario as following

1- Hostname server.domain.com
2- first domain (domain.com) the domain of hostname
3- Second domain (domain2.com)

After creation and moving backup from cpanel to keyhelp manual , all work good , websites , and emails moved correctly no problem

now when i try to add email example (info@domain.com) it added correctly and choose it own ssl 993 & 465 port without no issue but when i try to add info@domain2.com it give me error (cann't connect to incomming mail server) when i try to change ports ssl or starttls it give me certificate error it pull hostname certificate.
  • tried to certbot the second domain to make it wildcard certificate No chance
Tried to add mail cname to the domain2 (mail.domain2.com cname domain2.com) no chance

tried to change Main domain for connecting email clients Use the associated domain name No chance

Any help or ideas to make the second domain work on its mail server or domain.com mail server without issue ?

Thanks

You probably have a DNS issue.
Unfortunately, no one can really help you unless you provide the real domain names and we can check the connectivity remotely.

The only point I can see is spatiumegypt.com pointing to MX mail.spatiumegypt.com but the real hostname is server.ar4bnet.com

The rest looks fine…

i dont get it ,
why when mx mail.spatiumegypt.com is the mail server , rely to server host name certificate ,

can anyone explain mail schema for default installation ,
mail mx default record for multiple domain hosted on key panel will be hostname or mail.domain.com
autodiscover and login for outlook setting will be pulled from server will contain hostname as dns (hostname) or just the mail.domain.com

i dont get how Keyhelp panel work for routing dns records for hosting multiple domains hosted on keyhelp
and which certificate will be for all clients

my current dns records for mail services as follows

Code: Select all

imap.domain.com cname domain.com
smtp.domain.com cname domain.com
_autoconfig._tcp.domain.com. SRV 0 0 443 domain.com.
_autodiscover._tcp.domain.com. SRV 0 0 443 domain.com.
@ mx 10 mail.domain.com.
mail.domain.com. cname domain.com
and i have another question , how to create dns template and domain creatin template if i want every domain create with 2 main subdomains automatic like wheen i create domain.com it create automatic mail.domain.com and www.domain.com (its already give me choice for creating www domain)
second dns i want to make default dns tempalte like
ns1.domain.
cnames - mx , and A records .

Take a look in the "Settings" --> "Configuration" --> "EMail Server" --> scroll down to the end of the page there you find the "Connection Data"

this explains the possible settings ... don't forget to configure the correct MX settings in your DNS settings....
