Default chown

Post by Szektor »

Hey,

I made a stupid mistake. Instead of typing chown root:root ./ on a local directory, I did:
chown root:root / (without the dot)
Now I wonder how can I reset all the user:group pairs on all the folders to defaults.
Is there any script for that?

Sorry to say, but you are really f*cked up.

The net is full of the same problem, no, there is no reasonable way to repair that.

Take a backup, and make a fresh install. Then restore, KH will take care of the rest.
