The freenom .ML domain is in limbo since it was transferred back to its gov

How do I change my domain from name.ml to domain.com or other TLD as painless as possible without starting over and readding and transferring files and stuff?

Thanks!

In a nutshell: register domain.com with a provider of choice and set it up on the server. What has to be done on the server depends on the software installed there - sometimes it is enough to point the new domain to the directory which shows the old domain, sometimes you have to change the old domain in configuration files, databases etc. to the new domain - this can not be said in general.

If things like SEO are important, the correct redirects from old to new should also be set up.

Hello and thanks!

What I meant is I already have the name.ml in keyhelp and I want to edit the domain and the DNS in keyhelp to change it name.net or another domain and not start over with a new domain. Just replace the name.nl in keyhelp with name.tld, same domain name but different tld.

Do I need to edit some config in keyhelp to accomplish that?

Hello,

you cannot rename a domain within the KeyHelp UI.
You have to create a new domain (and delete the old one).

How about my subdomains, sites and installs on that domain? Cant the domain and dns zone just be edit. For example I will just change name.ml to name.net

This will be too much work. Only the TLD I need to change from ML to another like NET

The domain is indepentend from the data within the home directory.
Subdomains / Emails would have to be recreated.

I don't want to encourage anyone to do the following, but this should work if you are careful:
You could go to the KeyHelp database, into the `domains` table and change the domain names there.
Later call keyhelp-toolbox and rewrite all user configs.
