DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hello Keyhelp Pro Forum Community,
I hope you are all doing well. I recently transferred a domain to a new registrar and have encountered an issue with DNS records not being found. I'm seeking some guidance and assistance to resolve this issue, and I'm hoping that someone here can provide some insight.
Here's a summary of the problem:
Domain Transfer: I successfully transferred my domain to a new registrar it took 6-7 days.
DNS Records: However, after the transfer, I've noticed that there are no DNS records associated with the domain. Specifically, when performing a DNS resolution, I receive the following responses when i do dns lookup:
"No A records found."
"No AAAA records found."
"No CNAME record found."
This lack of DNS records is causing the domain to be inaccessible, and I'm not sure how to proceed to resolve this issue.
Any assistance or advice you can provide would be greatly appreciated. I'm eager to get my domain back up and running as soon as possible, and your expertise would be invaluable in resolving this issue.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hello Florian,
Thank you for your response and willingness to help.
The domain in question is "". Before the recent domain transfer, it was functioning correctly, and I believe my Keyhelp server was set up as the authoritative DNS server. However, I'm relatively new to this, and I would appreciate guidance on how to verify if my Keyhelp server is indeed the authoritative DNS server for this domain.
If there's a specific method or command I can use to check this configuration, please let me know, and I'll be happy to follow your instructions.
Your assistance is greatly appreciated.
Best regards

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hello,
the nameservers regarding whois are:
Name Server: NS1074.UI-DNS.BIZ
Name Server: NS1035.UI-DNS.DE
Name Server: NS1090.UI-DNS.ORG
Name Server: NS1040.UI-DNS.COM
These seem to be the nameservers of your domain provider. You must contact the support there.

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Simply restore the DNS Settings of your old registrar at the new registrar.
Then your domain should work again.
Then your domain should work again.

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hi ,
Thanks these seem from the old domain provider.
I think i should add these to the new domain provider.
PS: Its ok to have these name servers public on this forum right? or i would really appreciate if you can edit the above message

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hallo,
the nameservers of every domain can bee seen in the public whois system
Mabe you must update the domain once again so that the nameservers are updated. As already said you should contect your domain provider. It is no Keyhelp issue

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hello Florian,
Thank you for your guidance. I've checked my dashboard, and I can see that the new nameservers from my new domain provider are in there , with a TTL of 48 hours.
Before initiating the domain transfer, I didn't add the old nameservers to my new provider's settings, could that be the reason downtime I'm experiencing?
Thanks again for your help.
Best regards

Re: DNS Records Missing After Domain Transfer
Hallo,
if you move your domain to a new provider and use the provider's nameserver you do not need the old ones. Only if you would use the nameservers of your Keyhelp system they would stay the same.
