Email aliases different domains

Hi,

As email aliases now only support its own domain - is there a workaround so that I can send emails from the alias without logging in to the separate account?

Alias@domain2.com forwards to main@domain1.com but in order to send emails from the alias I have to login to that mailbox(?).

Before I could set aliases from whatever domain I had on the panel and was able to choose the from address on new emails but that was removed some updates ago.

I am looking for an answer to the same question as I'm using several Domain with one account.

On the way I had to find out that on my new KH instance the envelope address isn't checked at all I'm allowed to send from generic domains.

I couldn't find out how to control the behavior inside KH and I'm unsure if manual changes to postfix would preserve an update.

Actually the behavior that any user can use any address (like here) is even worse than having separate accounts per domain.

I guess you are talking about the web-mailer, correct?

If you use Roundcube, this document might solve your problem...

I over read the need of using a different domain (possibly hosted on a different server)...

If you don't want to hack the config manually, try to use one of those plugins, otherwise there are plenty of how-to out there how to modify the roundcube configuration:
