Backup & Restore single account

Post by RikkerdNL »

Am I correct that there is no native way to quickly back up and restore a single user with their data, database, cron etc. For example when we want to quickly transfer the account to another server?

No.
KeyHelp has an integrated backup-system based on restic.

Yes I understand. But does the backup provide a restore the single user account? Even when it is does not exists in KeyHelp. I see the following options when a restore is chosen:

Email accounts
Databases
Files and directories

But where are the saves crons, ssl, dns, ftp, etc. Is this included in files and directories?

So we will not restore the keyhelp database table in this case, because we want to migrate a single user account, in our test case.

Hello,

you cannot use the backup syste to transfer an account from one server to another. To restore elements from the backup they have to exist on the server e.g. mail accounts, databases etc.

If you use Keyhelp Pro you can use the migrator to move one account

Ok, that was also my initially thought. I am familiar with the migration tool. Maybe I will make a backup and restore script for local use. I don't know if this will be handy for others? Because you also offer a tool for it.
