Backup take long time "Backup slowly"

Hello Team,

Please can you help .. when i create new backup it take long time to complete backup ... can take more than 24 hours for 20 GB.
i have 4 cores with 8 GB ram, before last update it was fast backup to SFTP.
- i checked setting / Configuration / Backup

- CPU core limit
Here you can limit the number of CPU cores used for a backup process. A backup that is limited to a certain number of cores takes longer, but uses less CPU power. "No CPU more Limit"

- Compression rate
You can reduce the duration of the backup process at the expense of the resulting file size by choosing a faster compression method.
The fastest option is No compression. "No Compression "

- I have enabled "Multithreading".

>>> Thank you ...

Hello,

are you referring to the old or new backup system?

Have a look into the headlines of the corresponding configuration page. The settings you mentioned: two settings are for the old, and one for the new system.

So you are using the new backup management.

- Where do you upload your backup? The problem may be at the remote side.

- Since when does the repository exist? Since January 2023, all NEW repositories use a compression function that should significantly reduce the file size, which could help a potential weak remote server.

- Is the backup really still running? Do the percentage values change? Is the "restic" process still running? Perhaps it has crashed (e.g. due to a restart of the server during the backup, etc.)

Webspace 20.80 GiB
Emails 564.73 MiB

Backup start Nov 28, 2023, 14:05:10. until Nov 29, 2023, 20:40:10. total it was uploaded to SFTP (51.06%) its mean more than 24 hours ? look like working normal and the percentage counting normal but it's so slowly.

Unfortunately you have not said anything about my 2 first points.

The amount of data you are going to backup is rather small, i would guess this should not last more than 10 minutes to backup in normal circumstances. Especially if it is a follow up backup run. Because of a incremental backup, this should run only 3-4 minutes with the second and following runs.

To test this: Do a local backup, to see how fast it should be.

So I guess, the problem is the backup remote storage or the internet connection between these two servers. Which seems really slow. This would be out of scope of KeyHelp.

To test this: Establish a SFTP connection between the two servers and measure the speed.
